I really try to let go of bad feelings because they are exhausting and a waste of energy. I work really hard at not saying anything negative about my ex, in particular, around my kids. When they were young I would buy birthday gifts and xmas gifts and say they were from him. I was in a doctor's office, who was also a friend, talking about it and he pointed out something to me. He said I was actually making it worse for my kids and to stop. He said when they got older, none of it will make sense. It's the same as lying. They will wonder why we got divorced so I did stop.
